Replicate Nature
Replicate nature, especially with pet water bowls, aka shared earthling water sources.
I have never seen a bee drink water perched on an edge that is perpendicular to the water source, they need a slope. A slope allows them to stand at the water’s edge and drink. Recreating this in our world needs a touch of creativity.
All my pets have water bowls, man-made containers with smooth walls. Houdini my chicken, in particular, has a tall water bowl so it’s easier for her beak to reach and retain water. So many creatures share these water sources, that it is almost inconsiderate to not think of their safety in getting a drink.
Think of the playful puppy around the pool… so dangerous if not built with a easily accessible means of exit.
So, the answer is to build bridges, both in the water and exiting…
Pros and Cons to putting large stones / bricks in a pets water feed container
Pros
- Less water is used to fill the container
- More animals can share in the cool drink from this container now
- Any animal needing a drink now has a safe rough surface to climb around on
Cons
- Cleaning the water bowl, now includes scrubbing the rocks
- Water reduces at a faster rate needing faster top up than before
I might need to think a little further about these Pros and Cons, but trust me this is a needed thing for your shared earthling water sources. I lost our very old one eyed blue headed lizard due to not having this setup in our geese training pool. Was very sad, he’d been living in this area for longer than I have.
