So the world has changed. What does being agile really mean, and how is it relevant and necessary today?
We perceive that the world is different. We believe the information we need is available at our fingertips. However, if data is available “on the line”, (lol) – we stop thinking it needs to be all learnt off by heart. This has affected many aspects of business, even if it is limited information.
Personally, I don’t necessarily believe that information will forever be available at our fingertips. Information is controllable. People will start forcing payment on information availability…think paid for youtube content. <Future Post: Will speak to this more with an understanding of information on the internet. >
What does being agile really mean, and how is it relevant and necessary today
Agile is the natural evolution of our digital society. This has been a key driver in Agile Project Management. With Agile, we make decisions further down the line when we have better information, better decisions are more effective decisions.
Our ability to be flexible and respond to new information timeously is now of paramount importance. If our understanding is that data is more accessible, and reference-able, we now actively turn to key concept understanding. Instead of learning information of by heart, we become concept and principle focused. This allow us to use and manipulate to needed effect this ever-changing data and content. A stronger understanding of context, allows better content to be more meaningful, and to be better utilized information. We make better sense of all the data noise by changing our focus.
Sprints…coming soon.
FYI: for a future post – Sprints are not interruptible periods of time.
